Carnival Spirit review from EseaCruising.com customer.

The cabins are very Spacious, Clean & Comfortable.  The bathrooms are very well laid out with a lot of storage.  The Cabins also have a lot of Storage, Housekeeping are very friendly and non intrusive.

The Food: I had the pleasure of attending the Chefs Table Dinner, there is a maximum of 2 per cruise with 12 per seating.  Well worth doing.  Starts with a tour of the galley, and tasting of canapes which the Head Chef is trialling, you also get to meet the Head Pastry Chef who takes you thru a demonstration of how to make their Signature Dessert, the Chocolate Melting Cake.  You then are accompanied to a Private Dining Room, where you sit down to a 10 course Meal with accompanying Wines, in all this time you have the Head Chef at your complete disposal, who is very engaging and informative about food and Carnival.
Cost $75.00 per head and needs to be booked before your cruise by contacting Carnival via Email.

We dined at the Nouveau Restaurant which was also top class, but the Empire Restaurant was also very good, great service, entertainment & food.  The only bit of advice I would give here is if a large group (8 or more) are travelling together and wish to dine together, then they need to book there preferred dining time before they leave home, or make sure that they rock up to anytime dining on the first & second night together so they set a precedence to dining together and then would get the same table every night if they wished.

Upstairs Buffet great for Breakfast and Lunch, great chinese buffet at lunch as well as made to order sandwiches and rolls, sweets buffet, buffet of the day(mexican, italian, french etc changes daily).  The buffet upstairs only has a couple of possies open for dinner, they try to encourage everyone to eat in the empire restaurant for dinner.

Entertainment:-
Different to P&O, heard a lot of comparisons, but good entertainment, floorshows (3 inhouse Productions) were very good.  Fly in singers etc also very good, lots of comedy.

In Summary:
This large Ship which never seemed crowded, lots of seating area's, lots of deck chairs, lots of outside tables, very good duty free shopping, brilliant prices on duty free alcohol, lots of variety. Lifts were very fast and easy to use, worked as efficiently as a hotel on land, I know on my previous P&O cruises you would normally end up using the stairs as not enough lifts and very slow.  Laundry facilities great, easy to use.

Our score 9 out of 10.
